Who I work with

I specialise in rehabilitation — people who are often in acute or long-term pain.

I work with people of all ages and levels of fitness, from 14 year olds with growing pains and poor posture to 82 year olds who wish to improve their mobility and maintain a healthy active way of life.

At The View Pilates I specialise in rehabilitation, working with people who are often in acute or long-term pain, especially back pain, but also often hip and other joint issues such as post-surgery knee and hip replacements.

Athletes who are experiencing injury and wish to focus on a specific area to avoid, treat and rehabilitate injury, to pre and postnatal mums looking to avoid or improve back pain and poor posture during and post pregnancy whilst carrying on with a safe careful exercise regime, can benefit from all types of Pilates.

I want to promote the feeling that you can exercise no matter your age, size, ability. I am very anti ‘exercise for weight loss’ within the industry, or that it is only for the ‘fit & able’ as portrayed so often in media.

I want you to feel comfortable and safe during your sessions and learn to move without being self conscious. A lot of what we do together is to build confidence in yourself and your ability.

A fully equipped studio

Pilates is never forced and should never be painful.

In short, Pilates is an exercise program tailored to meet the individual’s need. It will help increase mobility, flexibility, core strength, balance and correct posture whilst helping the body stay strong and avoid injury — and help you feel more comfortable in your body.

Reformer
The reformer uses springs, pulleys, bars and straps to perform over 500 exercises in a variety of positions. It helps to lengthen, strengthen and increase core stability without bulking up the muscles.
Cadillac & Chair
Both allow for a more controlled, specific movement — excellent for that stretch feeling but also specific rehabilitation needs. The chair is perfect for clients who may not be comfortable lying down. The Cadillac offers a fixed surface, meaning the movement can be more controlled.
Matwork
Uses small equipment such as the small Pilates ball, fitness circle, flex band exercisers and toning balls to add challenge, support and resistance to the workout.

About Emily

I came to Pilates over 15 years ago, after many years of neck and shoulder issues, including a damaged disc.

In 2009 I decided to train to become an instructor, improving my own pain and posture problems. I began teaching Matwork Pilates in 2010 and Reformer Pilates in 2011.

The View is a fully equipped studio in a comfortable, calm and picturesque place. I try to create a space that helps my clients switch off from the day-to-day stress and rush of life and focus on their own health and well-being — promoting mindful movement, helping the brain to reconnect with the body.

“I try to make every class/session different and move the body through a full and functional workout.”

  • Qualified STOTT PILATES Instructor, certified in Matwork and Reformer Level Two
  • Fully educated in Cadillac, Trapeze & Chair STOTT Pilates
  • Teaching Matwork since 2010 and Reformer since 2011

What clients have said

In their own words.

I have a chronic scoliosis which is only going to get worse as I get older. Seeing Emily once a week has given me hope. Of course it can't get better but it can be helped and Emily is gently coaxing it to cope with everyday life. Without her help, guidance and understanding of my personal condition I would be in considerably more pain and constant discomfort. Small things I could not do before, I now have the inner strength and mobility to do — not much maybe to people with healthy spines, but a milestone to me. I'd recommend her to anyone with problems such as mine.

Pilates has become an enjoyable part of my week. My long-term back problems have eased as my core strength has improved. Emily is experienced and knowledgeable and is able to adapt sessions to suit an individual's needs. Using the reformer enables me to get into some truly surprising positions which result in all parts of my body being stretched and strengthened.

I can highly recommend both Pilates but especially Emily as a highly qualified, up to date & inspiring Instructor. I have experience of doing Pilates myself and feeling the benefits it brings when properly taught but also of referring patients to Emily who report back very positively of her classes and one to one sessions.

Booking

All sessions & classes must be pre booked.

How booking would work on the real site

The finished build would put Emily’s own diary on this page: live availability for one-to-one and two-to-one sessions, and small-group Reformer & Cadillac requests for a maximum of three people, confirmed straight back to you by email.

This preview does not show a calendar because it would have to be invented. Until the real thing exists, the two ways to book are the same as today.

Live booking calendar goes here. Real dates, Emily’s real hours, no double-booking — nothing on this preview page submits or stores anything.

Cancellations & rearranged appointments

Please give at least 48 hours notice for all cancellations & rearranged appointments.

All no shows and late cancellations must be paid for.

Please give a minimum of 48 hours notice for any reason, including but not limited to sickness, injury, traffic & transportation issues, to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Under 48 hours will incur the cancellation fees. This is to cover the cost cancellations incur, because under 48 hours is too short notice to offer the session to someone else. With this in mind please only book appointments you are sure you can attend.

About this preview

This page was built in an afternoon by Fully Booked from what is publicly on theviewpilates.co.uk. It is a taste of the direction, not the final thing, and it is a single page. The real build would be considerably more detailed and would carry Emily’s existing pages in full:

  • About The View Pilates
  • What is Pilates?
  • Contact Us
  • Our Locations
  • The View Pilates Blog

It would also carry her own photography throughout, every kind of session in full, live booking on her own diary for one-to-ones and small groups, SEO and analytics, a complete price list, and working contact forms.

What is placeholder here: the prices shown are her own published 2026 prices; the “Request a session” control is illustrative and nothing submits; no price is shown for Zoom or small-group sessions because her site publishes none. This page sets no cookies and collects no data. It will be deleted immediately on request.
